The Nacra 17 catamaran class is a new addition to the Olympics for Rio 2016. With it's high performance nature and the added twist of being the only mixed gender discipline in the Games, the Nacra is guaranteed to offer exciting and exhilarating racing for competitors, spectators and media. Lucy, now sailing with Andrew Walsh in the Nacra is loving the challenge of such a new style of racing and getting used to the speeds of 20-25 knots at times.

The all-female 49erFX class is another fantastic new entry to the 2016 Olympics. A great development from the existing very successful men’s 49er class, the short sharp racing style and the high performance skiff design of the boat is an exciting prospect this Olympic cycle for female sailors, on looking media and spectators alike. Kate is now helming the 49erFX with new team mate Katrina Best. The team are the perfect size and have a great skill set for racing a boat such as this so watch this space!
